Fabric, Fabric, Fabric!

Do you ever consider fabric when buying clothes? It’s often a low priority but can be so important. I’ll give you an example. Have you ever tried to wrap a curvy vase in stiff, thick wrapping paper? Not a good result is it? The paper doesn’t mould to the shape of the vase and ends up looking quite frankly, a mess! Not to mention twice as big as it really is.

A curvy figure wearing stiff fabric will find that the garment sits off her curves adding pounds to her frame, resulting in her looking two sizes bigger than she really is. But if she wears fabric with a bit of drape or stretch, it follows the body line and gives her a glorious shape.

This is the sort of thing that I look at in my style consultations and give recommendations as to the best fabric for your own figure and shape. It really is an eye opener!
